MADHUKAR KAW, M.D.

Dr. Madhukar Kaw is a board-certified gastroenterologist who has over 25 years of clinical experience. He provides a full spectrum of gastroenterology-related services, ranging from colonoscopies and endoscopies to more advanced procedures such as ERCP or EUS FNA. In addition to completing a gastroenterology fellowship, Dr. Kaw spent an additional year training in advanced and therapeutic endoscopy. Dr. Kaw often cares for patients who have had a failure procedure or have seen other gastroenterologists without improvement. His particular areas of interest include colorectal cancer screening, GERD, pancreaticobiliary disease and irritable bowel syndrome.
Dr. Kaw is a clinical associate professor at University of Texas. He has published numerous articles and book chapters about pancreaticobiliary disease, advanced endoscopy and GI malignancies to name a few. He is an active member of the Texas Medical Association, Harris County Medical Society, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has been selected to numerous best GI doctor lists, including the 2011 Top GI Doctor by Health and Fitness Magazine.
Dr. Kaw completed medical school at Government Medical College in Srinagar, India, followed by residency and GI fellowship at University of Pittsburgh. He then spent an additional year at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Dr. Kaw enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
